PORTILLO FAMILY MEETING MINUTES
10/8/2011

I.    Thank you to Denise for extending the use of her house

II.    PRAYER by Mary Lou

III.    INTRODUCTIONS
a.    State Name, P1/P2/P3, what branch of family
b.    4 generations represented at meeting

IV.    FAMILY PICNIC
a.    May 26, 2012 – Memorial Day Weekend
b.    Summit Park in Bonita
c.    Rent spaces for camping are available, call to reserve ASAP.
d.    6 sites have been reserved by family members
e.    Food – hot dogs, hamburgers, and Hot links
f.    Monica to call each family to tell them what sides to bring
g.    Alcohol is OK
h.    Lorraine to do the T-Shirts
i.    Milo to make other products such as hats
j.    Use Portillo Family Tree Logo that Carlos made
k.    AT NEXT MEETING – EACH FAMILY TO PICK COLORS OF SHIRTS
l.    Committees
i.    Food – Denise, Monica, and Mary Lou
ii.    Activities – Christina and Weenee
iii.    Entertainment – Stevie, Bernadette, Carmel and Bianca
iv.    T-Shirts – Milo and Lorraine

V.    FUNDRAISERS
a.    Valentines Day Dance
i.    Two Dates – February 11th or February 4th – Lorraine to check dates
ii.    Location – American Legion Hall
iii.    $10/person
iv.    Time – 7pm-Midnight
v.    Open to others besides family
vi.    DJ or Band – family to research costs and bring information to next meeting
vii.    Raffles
viii.    Next Meeting – Committees to be formed



b.    Pub Crawl
i.    We will do it for next fundraiser after dance and picnic.  We need to focus on dance.
c.    Gold Party
i.    Bianca to organize
ii.    15% goes to organization
iii.    People keep their money
iv.    Cash on spot
v.    WE WILL DO THE GOLD PARTY AT NEXT MEETING

VI.    FAMILY DUES
a.    Collect from everyone that shows up at meeting
b.    $5/person or what ever they have

VII.    BRUNCH DATE – PRIMAS
a.    12/3 at 3pm
b.    Stoney’s
c.    Potluck due to kitchen being closed
d.    Open to sister-in-laws, etc.
e.    Xmas Gift Exchange
f.    Primos are allowed after 5pm

i.    We are Family – 3rd Highest fundraising team
ii.    The Portillo's and Valderrama’s received an award and were recognized
e.    Christina Gomez to be a Grandma
f.    Weenee – AC and wife are teaching at same high school in Salinas
g.    Compliments to family and Carlos for putting together family tree logo
h.    Milo – new business – The Spot in Barrio Logan
i.    Printing company
ii.    Art Gallery
iii.    Hours – 9am-6pm Monday –Friday.  COME BY TO CHECK OUT!
i.    Lorraine – advertise family members’ businesses.
i.    Bernadette will add to blog a link to their businesses as information is sent her way
j.    Bianca’s son Max will be 1 years old
k.    Shout Out to the P1’s!!! – Thank you for your guidance and example of leadership
l.    Christina - Cruise Update
i.    Cabo in March will need $200 by next Friday.
ii.    Postpone date for September 2012, in light of other upcoming events.

a.    Saturday, November 12th at 3pm
